Who We Are
Seaboard Marine Electric is a specialist service firm based at 107 14th Street in Brooklyn, NY. We provide repair, rebuilding, and service for generators, electric & water pumps, and motors across three equal specialties — commercial, marine, and industrial — throughout New York City and the Tri-State area.
The core of the business is simple: we do hard-to-do rotating equipment work, we do it well, and we do it with documentation the operator can file. Whether it's a commercial building's emergency generator, a tugboat's main propulsion motor, or an industrial plant's process pump — repair or full rebuild — we cover it. We don't try to be a general electrical contractor, and we don't take jobs outside our competency just to fill the schedule. That focus is what lets us turn repairs faster and hold better quality than generalists.
Three Specialties. One Team.
Repair, Rebuilding & Service — Both Disciplines
A repair gets your equipment running again. A rebuild restores it to factory condition — or better — with the service life of new equipment at a fraction of replacement cost. We do both, across all three of our specialty sectors, for generators, electric & water pumps, and motors. When the right answer is a patch to get you through the week, we patch. When the right answer is a full tear-down, core burn-out, rewinding, VPI impregnation, and balancing — we rebuild. The economics and the downtime tolerance dictate which path makes sense.
What We Stand For
How We Work
Most rotating equipment work is urgent. A generator going down in a hospital is not an appointment. Our operating model reflects that — we carry standing inventory for common consumables, we maintain a dedicated mobile crew separate from the shop team, and we run on-call rotations so dispatch never waits on someone being found.
The Brooklyn facility handles the work that can't be done on-site: motor rewinds that need VPI treatment, balancing jobs that need our 2-ton capable stand, rebuilds that require precision machining. Most other work happens at the customer's location. Free pickup and delivery within our service zone.
